=windows-1252QWindows 7 freezes randomly for 30-45 sec – Finally Solved

Windows 7 randomly freezes for 30-45 seconds before returning to normal as if nothing has happened, regardless of application and workload. Complicating things is a total lack of error messages, Event Viewer logs, BSOD notices or any signs in Task Manager of an actual crash. Curiously, the mouse will continue to respond during these momentary hangs and actions are stockpiled until the computer resumes. Most frustratingly there wasnt an apparent trigger. After a grueling 12 hour stretch trying to find the solution, PCSTATS nailed down the fix to a a very specific Microsoft Knowledge Base Patch released just two weeks ago.

SilenX EFZ-120HA4 Heatsink

The SilenX EFZ-120HA4 heatsink is a full tower cooler, standing 151mm tall and weighing 836 grams. It ships with a single non-PWM 120mm SilenX Effizio Series Quiet Fan mounted to the aluminum fin tower with four rubber vibration absorbing posts. The fan rotates at 800-2000RPM and as is common to this heatsink style, barely fits in place because the company holding the original design credit for this heatsink messed up its dimensions. The fin tower is about 15mm too short to properly mount a 120mm fan. Its oversight well talk about in greater detail momentarily.
