How often do you find yourself working late a night during a lightning storm madly hammering out a report or fragging some folks only to have the power surge or go out on your completely? For me, it's something that has happened more than once and on all those occasions I've had to redo my work and swore I would one day get a UPS for my machine. Ultra continues to engineer a variety of products and the ULT33046 is one fine example.



The Ultra ULT33046 is better known as the 2000VA 1200 Watt Backup UPS w/ AVR. A UPS is essentially one enormous battery that can supply AC power to whatever you decide to plug into it. Ultra Product has a number of models depending on your specifications. The smallest is a 180 Watt unit and the largest is our 1200 Watt monster. We'll go through the ins and outs of this puppy and see how it holds up to my PC under different load conditions.
